Terms of Service
Last updated August 28, 2026
Agreement
By opening a Cliplash room or joining one from your phone, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Cliplash.
Cliplash uses YouTube API Services to let players search YouTube and to play back embedded YouTube clips. By using Cliplash you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Our handling of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, and Google's own use of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What Cliplash is
Cliplash is a live, in-person party game. One device hosts a room on a shared screen; other players join from their phones using a room code. Each round, players find and submit a video clip matching a prompt, then the room votes. There's no account system — rooms and player seats are temporary and exist only for the length of a game.
Content you submit
When you submit a clip — whether a link to YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Vimeo, Twitch, Google Drive, or a video you upload directly — you're responsible for what you share. Don't submit content you don't have the right to share, content that violates the terms of the platform it came from, or content that's illegal, harassing, or sexually explicit. We may remove a submission, end a room, or block access for violating this.
Acceptable use
Play fair, and don't use Cliplash to harass or target another player, attempt to disrupt or overload the service, scrape or automate submissions/votes, or interfere with anyone else's game.
Third-party platforms
Clips shown in Cliplash are embedded from the platform they come from and remain subject to that platform's own terms of service (YouTube's, TikTok's, and so on). We don't host or claim ownership of clip content players submit — we only facilitate playback and voting during a live game.
Our content
The Cliplash name, branding, prompts, and game design are ours. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of that to you.
No warranty
Cliplash is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or uninterrupted — it's a small, actively developed project, and things occasionally break mid-game.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Cliplash, including a ruined game night.
Changes
We may update Cliplash or these terms as the game evolves. If we make a meaningful change to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
